About Jax

Jax has been practicing yoga for 18+ years. She is deeply inspired by B.K.S. Iyengar and Judith Lasater.

Jax was first introduced to yoga through a friend from competitive dance. Since then, her relationship with yoga has evolved. What started as a way to workout and gain flexibility has transformed into a practice focused on calming the mind and releasing tension in the body.

When you join a class with Jax, you can expect to slow down from the business of your day-to-day life. This slow-paced, gentle practice is intended to get you ‘out of your mind - and into your body’. Jax incorporates pranayama (breathwork) into every class and students will gain experience using yoga props to support asanas (poses).

“Letting go gives us freedom, and freedom is the only condition for happiness. If, in our heart, we still cling to anything - anger, anxiety, or possessions - we cannot be free.”
